Founded as the Dodge Brothers Company in 1900 to supply parts and assemblies for Detroit's growing auto industry, Dodge began making its own complete vehicles in 1915.  The brand was sold to Chrysler Corporation in 1928.

Over time the Dodge Brothers grew "tired of being carried around in Henry Ford's vest pocket".  Their ingenuity helped them to bring new features to the automobile market that we now consider standard such as: all-steel body construction.

After the Dodge Brothers death, the widows carried on and with the help of good managers, brought the company to the forefront as a leading builder of light trucks.  In the 1960's, the Dodge Charge brought more positive recognition as it lead sales and won races on the NASCAR circuit.
